So it has been a little while for me on here, but it has certainly not been because of a lack of things going on. Luke, Kati, israel, and myself recently returned from blind pilot’s first european tour. It was quite an amazing trip. Somewhat strange at times as we were playing some massive rooms and trying to fill them with our acoustic instruments. It was fun for sure, but I’m not convinced we are an arena rock band. We did get to play some smaller rooms which was really fun. I am excited to go back with a larger band and some more of our own shows.
We are a few days into our tour with the Decemberists now and it couldn’t be better. The drives are super long, but some how it doesn’t seem that bad. The shows have been great and I feel super lucky to be supporting the Decemberists on this tour. Their show is incredible.
We are on our way to the Daytrotter studio right now and then will be heading to milwaukee for another show with the Decemberists.
I am sure there is more I could write about, but I am doing this on my phone which is kind of a pain to type on. I hope you are all well and getting ready for a great summer.
Ryan

Denver, WOW. I didn’t even know who the opening band was to be. Your performance was wonderful. Mid-stream I realized I’d heard you interviewed on NPR. Great work! Keep it up.

I saw you guys in Manchester and believe me you did manage to fill MEN with your music. You guys were amazing. Plus personally I’m so glad that you guys were so good as Hold Steady were terrible.
I would love to see you guys again and have bought the album which i’ve not stopped listening too.
So hope you come back soon, maybe university campus’ would be great venues for you as you’d get the right atmosphere which your music deserves.
Please come to the South again…New Orleans…Mobile, AL. The Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL is an awesome venue…House of Blues…the Annex…Checkpoint Charlie’s…in New Orleans…come on guys…ATL is not nearly close enough for all of your fans down here in the deep, dirty south.
Just saw your show in KC. Uptown is a great venue, and you guys did it justice. Good tunes, good performance and super opening to a memorable Decemberists show. Good luck the rest of the tour and with sales of the new album.
Nice set at the concert in milwaukee tonight. Got the cd and can’t wait to check it out in its entirety. Good luck on the rest of the tour and HAVE FUN! Looks like you’re off to a fantastic summer. Yay! =)
Just wanted to drop a line and say that you guys we’re amazing last night at the Riverside in Milwaukee. It was such a great show. You have such a great vibe and I hope you come back. I truly enjoyed every second of your set. Hope the rest of the tour goes well for you!
Safe travels.
You guys surprised a lot of people last night at the Milwaukee show. Everyone around us was asking why your band isn’t headlining a tour. Please come back soon and try out Turner Hall or the Pabst Theater on your own. Naturally, Dave will be the local favorite! A most excellent show folks. I felt like I had already gotten my money’s worth before the Decemberists came out.
(BTW, I rarely buy a CD at the show from an opening band but in your case it was an easy choice.)
I went to see The Decemberists at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City on the 27th and seeing you guys open for them was the best musical surprise I have had in years!
I absolutely LOVED your songs and as soon as I got home I bought your album online. I really wanted a t-shirt but the line at the theater was really, really long. How can I get a t-shirt? I am not finding it on your website. Is it only a tour thing? I really hope not!
Anyway, just wanted to say that you were amazing and that the show was great! I am looking forward to seeing you live again sometime.
Karen
Great show in Milwaukee. I really wish you guys had played longer and I don’t think I’ve ever said that about an opening act.
Ryan,
Awesome show in Milwaukee!! There is not a bad seat in the house at the decorative Riverside Theatre. Isreal has such a beautiful mesmerizing voice. What surprised me most was the ecclectic collection of instruments your group uses… bass, squeeze box (?), guitar, drums, banjo, and marimba (?). We had a super time!
Couple questions for you if you don’t mind.
1. Which instrument do you play? If the musicians introduced themselves I must have missed it.
2. There was one song where the woman left her banjo and played drums. I loved that song. What was it called?
Thanks so much! Hope to see you soon!!

ryan is the drumer and the last song was from there new album there making and i agree it was brilliant but story i heard is the best song
Loved your show in Milwaukee!! One of the things that makes me really happy is music that sounds happy. The kind of music that when you hear it you can’t help but smile and move your body. Your entire set sounded wonderful but the last song was the most memorable. Between the heavy and addicting drum beat, the smiles on each band member’s face, and the beautiful acoustic sound, I have to admit it ALMOST brought a tear to my eye. I held it back. The whole experience was revitalizing.

I hope to see you live again!
Sarah
Hello! I love you guys! I saw you play on Friday night opening up for the Decemberists and was blown away. I now am a proud owner of your CD and can not stop listening to it. I hope to be able to see you again soon! This is how you spell Milwaukee.
A friend today just offered to sell me her extra Decemberist tickets for the Altanta show this week and I was thrilled to find out you guys are the opening band. I have been hoping you would come out to Atlanta but thought you were just a west coast band. So I am super excited, no pressure though.
BTW, the songs from 3 rounds and a sound has gotten me through many a long run and bike ride.
Nat
PS. Please play Paint or Pollen. It is my fav.
Hey, my wife and I really enjoyed your show last night at the Pageant in St. Louis. Looks like you guys are returning in August. We’ll definitely be there. The Decemberists couldn’t have picked a better supporting act. Well done!
saw you guys in Milwaukee, wish you played longer. not to be overly cheesy, but that’s the first time i saw you live and your music pretty much broke my heart (in a good way)
oh yeah, forgot to ask… what was the last song you played? fantastic!!!
nevermind, i figured it out. how do i go about getting your songs not on 3 rounds and a sound?
Hi everyone! congrats on everything. glad to have you back state side. and ryan… typing this post on your phone? what?! will wonders never cease?
BEST! *a
Please please PLEASE come back to Minneapolis! Saw you at the 400 Bar and you are AMAZING!!! My fav band by far and even more amazing live.
Saw you guys last night in Atlanta at The Tabernacle… fantastic show! Love the sound. Bought your CD at the show. Can’t wait to see when you are coming back to Atlanta. Great show all!!!!
Your show in St Louis was awesome. I downloaded your album and have listened to it five times this morning.
I saw you last night in Atlanta and you were wonderful! I even gave up a good seat beside an obnoxiously loud person, so that I could enjoy your set uninterrupted! Both you and the Decemberists were awesome, but you guys were the main reason my husband and I went. Great show!
Saw you guys in Glasgow opening for Counting Crows when I was visiting my family
Have to say most of the crowd with us enjoyed your music.
You were also featured yesterday on kFOG San Francisco’s new releases thursday.
You guys are being heard …
Just saw you open for the Decemberists in Richmond, VA. WOW! You were unbelievable. I bought your CD at the show and could not be happier. Please come back to the National, you were great. Thanks for adding to an absolutely mind-blowing night of music
What a great show at Bowery Ballroom 6/06. Thanks to all of you!
I haven’t enjoyed an opening act so much in so long; it was an awesome set at The Riverside–I was happy to put some faces on the sounds I had heard a bit of…
Please come back soon :]
Just got back from your DC concert. Awesome! Thanks for a great evening! I’m surprised that you guys arent super famous yet. You’re so good!!!! When you coming back to Europe? Please come to Switzerland! See you at Paleo festival (www.paleo.ch) next summer?

I guess I’m the fifth to say that your show in Milwaukee was truly spectacular. I enjoyed that concert more than any other I’ve been to previously and your performance was no small part of that. Thanks and keep on making great music.
Hey guys! You played a fantastic show in Raleigh North Carolina. It was fantastic getting to meet you, and talk to you guys for a while. Thanks for signing our shirts, and CD’s and getting a picture with us. They’re all very treasured, were looking forward to talking to you guys again, and hopefully seeing you play again soon! Great show, you impressed everyone who hadn’t heard you before. And those of us who had!
Hey Dudes! Love your sound, and I can’t wait to see you on Friday in Toronto! You make me want to get into a canoe and float the day away…does that make sense? So enjoyable, just wanted to let you know:)
Thanks for swinging by the East Coast on this tour and bringing the “full” band. Really enjoyed the show at The Tabernacle on June 3 – great views and great acoustics. Got hooked by the NPR podcasts from SXSW and KEXP but seeing the show live was a special treat. Come back soon (and play Oviedo next time). I’m too old to relate to most of the typical “band comparisons” but your live show reminds me of the excellent Steve Forbert.
i saw you guys both in denver and in columbus and both shows were amazing! i had already fallen in love with your cd, but seeing you live sealed the deal. such wonderful, soulful, heartfelt music id hard to come by and i am so grateful!
when does the new cd come out? and, i second the above question about the t-shirts…
kristi
Hey we saw the show in Cardiff supporting Counting Crows, thoroughly enjoyed the show got the album the next day … come back soon
Dave / Courtney
I also saw you guys for the first time at the Uptown, I had never heard of you until that night, but am certainly glad I have now!! We bought your CD and are going to see you again in STL in August. Way to be. You guys are great. I listen to your album all the time.
See you soon!
Hi,
I recently moved to Toronto for six months and I had the chance to catch your show last week at the Mocambo.
As I’m French, I actually didn’t know Blind Pilot beforehand and you were absolutely amazing! One of the best musical experience I’ve had since I got here! I hope you’ll be back touring in Europe (and not for your own shows!) at some point so I’ll be able to enjoy your music live again…
Good luck to you and thanks again,
Charlotte
sorry, I actually meant FOR YOUR OWN SHOWS of course!
Excellent show last night at the High Noon Saloon in Madison. Shame it had to be so early, but I suppose everyone needs their fill of Karaoke, right?
It was a thrill to see the way your presentation of the songs have changed since I last saw you all for the show/interview in Minneapolis back in April. Always great to hear the favorites off of 3 Rounds and a Sound, and looking forward to seeing some of those newer songs being released in the future.
Good luck with the rest of the tour!
-K
i saw you support counting crows in the uk and you blew them into obscurity for me, i have bought your album 3 rounds and a sound but was disappointed that we are the tide was not on it.
Saw you guys open for the Counting Crows in Cardiff…you were amazing! Buying the albumn and can’t wait to see you guys again – any idea when you will be back in England??!?!?
Very interesting… thanks.
Hi.
Tried to post before, but to no avail, hope this one works!!!!
Just wanted to say i saw you in Cardiff in May and you were truly brilliant!
Every so often a band comes along that do what you do to me, and that’s to take me out of the place i’m in and take me elsewhere, it’s something that only a few bands have ever done.
Your music wraps itself around me and just gets inside. To be able to write the stuff you do is genius, and to have the ability to connect with people through your music is a true gift.
Please, please….
1/ Keep doing what you do
and
2/ Come back to the U.K. very, very soon.
Luv,
Ben.
When you guys supported Counting Crows to an empty NIA in Birmingham England, I was one of the people at the front getting blown away by your sound. I fell in love with some of those songs and you got yourselves another new fan that night. I just can’t stop playing your tunes, and it five months later.
When you headline your own tour here I’ll look forward to catching you. There’s some great smaller venues around the UK with more suitable acoustics, I hope providence makes it happen soon.
